• In April this year, I borrowed ₦100,000 to complete my school clearance, confident that once I was posted for NYSC, I could use my allowance to repay it. Unfortunately, before that could happen, I fell seriously ill and had to borrow more money for treatment. With interest, the first loan grew to ₦175,000. When I couldn’t pay on time, I borrowed from another app to clear it — and that was the beginning of a painful cycle. Since April, I have been taking loans to pay back other loans, and with the constant interest, the amount has now grown to almost ₦800k. I have sold what I could and cut down my expenses, but the debt keeps growing faster than I can handle.
